Sept 2021: Irregular opening hours. Likely to be open Fri/Sat/Sun but best to call if travelling from a distance. Dating back to the end of the 18th century, the Swan is chained to the hill as the ground slopes very suddenly beneath the foundations of the old Inn, and visitors will see a large iron strap running along the back of the Inn with one end round either corner. The bolts, are fastened to girders in between the rocks of a disused quarry over the road.
