Pubs are a great British institution and too many are closing! So, if you are able to do so, please support a pub in our area. Our branch is blessed with a splendid diversity of pubs - ranging from those in the five main areas of population to rural country inns. Most sell real ale, and, during a recent survey in Chippenham alone, it was found to be possible to sample no fewer than 37 differing ales.
There are 130 pubs in the North West Wiltshire branch which sell real ale. At the time of writing, two are closed but have not yet been altered. Their futures, however, remain uncertain:
- The Mermaid, Christian Malford
- The Cross Keys, Corsham
Here is a map showing the pubs in our area (though it may take some time to load). Here is a list of all pubs and clubs in the branch area that sell real ale.
We invite members of the public and landlords to use CAMRA's WhatPub site to send us up to date information on pubs.
