Accommodation
I have discovered that room rates in Edinburgh average around the £75 per night rate, and this is not high season rates.
However there seem to be some good deals in particular at the EQ-2 This hotel is made up of apartments so say a three room apartment would include three en-suite rooms, a kitchen area (with cooker, washing machine etc) and lounge area stay for three nights and get the third free. Price includes continental breakfast. For a two room apartment (so two couples sharing) the rate is £68.50 per person per night. Quite good value and it gets really good ratings on its site and independent ones. I have seen this set up in the USA but not in the UK.
This seems like it may well suit our needs, we can all be in the same area but not on top of each other, its very close to all amenities and should be OK if you are prepared to find your own full Scottish breakfast (if you wanted it). Click on room details for more info on what you get.

Obviously I can’t recommend any of these but the EQ-2 looks OK to me, you guys will have to choose what suits you best

The EasyJet websites shows flights from Bristol on the 12th June at 0645 (ETA 0800) £23.00 or 1625 (ETA 1750) for £28.00 inc all taxes and surcharges (allegedly).
Return flights on the 15th June 0945 (ETA 1100) £40 or 1820 ETA 1930) £58
